How does a standing medical trip get scheduled?
A recurring trip can have a different pickup time for each weekday. That matters when a rider has dialysis on Monday, Wednesday, and Friday but a different appointment time on Thursday. Facility selection fills in an address, while a will-call return accommodates an appointment that ends at an uncertain time.
Dispatchers can also enter one-off trips. Each trip stays attached to its client and can carry the trip type and authorization information needed by the office.
- Recurring schedulesSet the days and pickup times instead of rebuilding the same order every week.
- Facilities and returnsUse saved facility addresses and will-call returns when the appointment end time is unknown.
How are drivers assigned when the day changes?
The dispatch board has day and week views with unassigned trips alongside driver availability. Dispatchers can drag trips onto drivers, assign in batches, or start with nearest-neighbor auto-assign suggestions and then review the result. The dispatcher makes the final assignment decisions.
When a trip changes, the office works from the same trip record drivers see in their mobile app. Status updates and active-trip driver locations give dispatchers more context for answering a clinic’s “where is the ride?” call.
- Human-controlled assignmentAuto-assign suggests a first pass; staff can adjust trips on the board.
- Active-trip visibilityDrivers share GPS during active trips, and dispatch can view their positions on a map.
What happens after the ride?
Drivers record trip status, mileage, and a passenger signature in the mobile app. Completed trips can then be used to generate invoices and reports without re-entering the same ride details from paper sheets.
